Senior Analytics Engineer

As a Senior Analytics Engineer working at Unblocked, you will design and build scalable and performant data pipelines, optimized for AI workflows. You will be part of an experienced group of engineers who thrive on building products that our customers love.

We are a small team with track record of building developer tools that solve real problems. About Unblocked

Unblocked is a high-growth, well-funded SaaS company that helps answer questions software development teams have about their applications. This allows them to spend less time in meetings/dealing with interruptions and more time writing code.

Unblocked works with large volumes of structured and unstructured data from a variety of sources. We are looking for someone who can help us build a scalable data platform to clean, classify, and analyze this data for downstream consumption by LLM models.

About You

You’ve gained extensive experience as a software engineer with a track record of building and shipping products that customers love. You’ve built data pipelines that solve real customer problems, and have been eagerly researching and experimenting with emergent AI technologies, driven by a deep passion for understanding the intrinsic value and significance of data and its impact on modern AI products.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze data processing requirements of the product, translate them into clear specifications.
  • Architect scalable and cost-effective data solutions.
  • Drive the implementation, testing, deployment, and operation of Unblocked's data solutions.

Requirements

  • Experience in data modeling, cleaning, and classification techniques.
  • Experience working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
  • Experience building composable Cloud Based Data Platforms in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience collaborating with DevOps teams.
  • Lead a previous project with data development ETL/ELT processes for data integration.
  • Demonstrated leadership of fellow team members in the delivery of a project.
  • Expert-level software development skills in a modern typesafe development language.
  • Based in Vancouver, British Columbia (and be in the office 4 days a week).

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in leveraging NLP for text classification, sentiment analysis, or entity recognition.
  • Familiarity with prompting OpenAI, Anthropic, or other LLM models to improve performance.
  • Awareness of the latest industry developments, trends, and best practices, including regularly reading research papers and staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and techniques.
